Memories Of
Eli Adebayo
"I never held Eli in my arms, but I held him in prayer long before he was born. I live in Lagos, far from New York where Sarah gave birth. When the news came, I lit a candle and opened my Bible to Psalm 23.
I grieved not only for my grandson, but for my daughter and her husband. The distance made it feel unreal. But faith made it sacred. I gathered with my church and read his name aloud. We sang a hymn for him in Yoruba. I created this tribute so that he would not be forgotten across oceans.
He is part of us now. Until we meet again."
